Bunkering - Operators

Vemaoil
Operates four bunker tankers with a total capacity of 14,000 tonnes plus a 100,000 tonne capacity floating storage facility, the 'Vemabaltic', anchored permanently in Gibraltar Bay. Vemaoil had the largest share of the market in 2007 with 38.55%.

Cepsa (Gibraltar) Ltd
Owned jointly by the Spanish company Cepsa and Gibunco Holdings. In 2007, its products accounted for some 30.82% per cent of the Gibraltar market. Gibunco Holdings Ltd also owns half of the bunker barge operator Maritime Gibraltar. Cepsa has supply and delivery agreements with Shell (Gibraltar) Ltd and Peninsular Petroleum – a London-based company owned by Gibunco Holdings Ltd. All its products are sourced from a refinery on the other side of Gibraltar Bay. Cepsa operates three bunker barges with two more in Algeciras which can be brought to Gibraltar as required.

Aegean Bunkering (Gibraltar) Ltd
Supplied 27.14% of the market in 2007. The three bunker tankers of the company deliver fuel for Aegean Marine Petroleum SA.

Bunkers (Gibraltar)
A new entrant into the local bunker market in 2007, supplied 3.49% of the total.
