Yachting - Introduction
Perfectly positioned yachtsman's paradise

Yachting facilities in Gibraltar include a choice of three marinas and a service and support network that would grace many larger ports. The distinctive British atmosphere of Gibraltar and its marinas is an added attraction for visiting yachtsmen.

The marinas provide yachts with a wide choice of location and facilities. There is a total of 450 berths with depths to 4.5 metres capable of taking super yachts up to 100 metres in length.

Gibraltar has a wide range of ship service companies which also benefit the yachtsman. Spare parts and provisions are handled by many shipping agents, and there are first-class medical facilities, chandleries and yacht brokerage services.

Daily air links with London Heathrow and Gatwick, Luton and Manchester allow yatchsmen to base their boats in Gibraltar and enjoy both the excellent climate and the range of year-round cruising attractions to be found in the western Mediterranean. In addition, thanks to Gibraltar's tax-free status, there are financial advantages to basing a yacht in Gibraltar.

An added incentive for visitors is Gibraltar's extensive range of shops, just a short walk from the marinas, offering goods free of VAT.
